That'll depend on how much you wanna tell me. I figured you wouldn't wanna go too deep into it. If you want to, I'm all ears. If you don't, I'll accept that too.

But there is something else I wanted let you know.

I've spent most of my time lurking in places where outcasts gather because they have no where else and no one higher up will help them. If I didn't want to work with you and Lycaon, I would've refused right then and there.

I said I would cause I wanted to and I know we can help more than Harumasa. I'm not gonna go back on my word.

I understand that and the sort of man you are. I would never put your dedication to a task in question. You are the champion for a reason.

If this is about Lycaon mentioning something about apprehension, then I assure you, I didn't divulge the full extent of my thoughts to him.

[ Because when does he ever. Also, at some point he decided to text like a reasonable person. Serious conversations deserve serious text lengths. ]

I will not mince words with you. If someone becomes partners with me, I will put my whole heart and life into helping and protecting their ideals. It's a bothersome trait of mine, getting so involved with the ones close to me when I know my luck with those.

It will be messy, and might be too unreasonable to put on someone who is not asking nor wanting that level of commitment.

Working with us is not merely business. It is personal, and that is not something you've agreed to yet.

That is the purpose of the apprehension, Lorenzo.

That's where Lorenzo's apprehension came in. He preferred to keep things at arm's length. Hua Cheng hovered over him, but the man had his priorities separate from the many that worked under him. Maxima and Wriothesley were the heads behind the Aides but in the end that amounted to volunteer work that he was glad to take on.

These are things where he felt more of an out. That if he needed to go somewhere else, he could without being tied down.

It wasn't that he didn't want to enter this partnership with Lycaon and Hugo. It's that committing to something so long term was...

He didn't want a name attached. But he also didn't want to confess to the fact that he was, frankly, scared.]

You're a real intense guy, you know that? It's impressive, honestly. That you'd go that far to protect someone else's ideals. You've got a real leader's mindset with that.

It's not that I'm opposed to how you see us working together. [As personal over business, that is. But that was putting a name to it.]

I'd just prefer to keep my personal business to myself. Things that have nothing to do with what work we'd pick up.

Not entirely. I didn’t see us working together. I didn’t believe you would like such a position, and saw no reason to push it. I merely let Lycaon handle it because I know this is something he wants. He sees us as a team who can handle the tasks needing done, and I don’t disagree with that.

So, let’s do it your way. You can be part time help, and I at the very least will not expect anything besides that surface level help from you. Should a more permanent option come along, that can be discussed at that time. Although I’m sure that will result in you becoming ‘a reliable understudy’.

Just think of it as a prenup so you don’t become another one of my ‘calamitous divorcée’s’, as they call us. Nothing truly changes but my peace of mind.

But if Lycaon decides he wants things a different way, I will let him go about that.

They do, and all over a very messy disagreement Lycaon and I had over this very subject. He thought I did something that stood against his morals and left. I hope that makes it more clear why I've said the things I did.
